We sell new and used containers, lease units on short and long terms, and build custom modifications. Delivery covers the city, the surrounding suburbs and Northern Kentucky. Before any container leaves the depot, we check the doors, seals, floor and roof so what shows up on your site matches what we quoted.

Container Options We Offer
New (One-Trip) Containers
A one-trip container has made a single ocean voyage before being retired from shipping service. The paint is clean, the doors swing easily and the floors are in near-perfect condition. These are the right pick if the container will be visible to customers, modified into an office or workspace, or kept on your property for a decade or more.
Used Containers
Used units cost less and still offer strong protection. We’re upfront about grading. “Cargo worthy” containers are structurally sound enough to ship goods again, while “wind and water tight” (WWT) units won’t let in rain or wind but may show dents, surface rust and faded paint. Ask us for photos of the specific unit before you commit. We’re happy to send them.
Container Leasing
Leasing works well for construction projects, seasonal inventory, renovations and any situation where you need space for a defined stretch of time. You pay a monthly rate, and we handle pickup when you’re done. You can read more about our lease program here.
Portable On-Site Storage
Our portable units are placed directly on your property, so you’re not driving across town to a self-storage facility every time you need something. Ground-level access means you can roll in carts, pallets or equipment without a loading dock.
Custom Modifications
Standard containers can be fitted with roll-up doors, personnel doors, windows, shelving, lockboxes, ventilation, insulation, lighting and electrical. For temperature-sensitive goods, we also supply refrigerated units through our Frigotainer and reefer line.
Choosing the Right Size
Picking the wrong size is the most common mistake we see. Too small and you end up renting a second unit; too large and you’re paying for empty space and eating up yard area. Here’s a practical breakdown:
| Size | Approx. Floor Space | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| 10 ft | About 75 sq ft | Tools, small equipment, a single room of furniture, tight lots |
| 20 ft | About 150 sq ft | Contents of a 1 to 2 bedroom home, job site tool storage, retail overflow |
| 40 ft standard | About 300 sq ft | Contents of a 3 to 4 bedroom home, pallets of inventory, equipment |
| 40 ft high cube | About 300 sq ft, one extra foot of height | Tall machinery, stacked pallets, conversions that need headroom |
A simple test: measure the footprint of what you plan to store, then add 20 to 30 percent for walking space. If you’ll be pulling items out regularly, leave a center aisle.
How Cincinnati Weather Affects Container Storage
Most Storage Containers in Cincinnati deal with humid summers, freeze-thaw cycles and heavy spring rain, and each of those affects what happens inside the box. The steel itself handles the weather fine. Condensation is the real problem. When warm, moist air inside the container meets a cold steel roof, water droplets form and drip onto whatever is stored below. People in the industry call it “container rain.”
A few habits prevent most moisture damage:
- Add passive vents or ask us to install extra ones, especially if you’re storing paper, fabric, wood or electronics.
- Keep items on pallets rather than directly on the floor.
- Use moisture absorbers during the humid months from June through September.
- Place the container on gravel, concrete pads or railroad ties, never on bare soil that holds water.
If your property sits near the Ohio River, Mill Creek or the Little Miami, check the FEMA flood map for your address before choosing a spot. A few extra inches of elevation can make a big difference during a high-water spring.

Buy or Rent: Which Makes More Sense?
Deciding between buying and renting Storage Containers in Cincinnati usually comes down to how long you’ll need the space.
Renting makes sense when your need has a clear end date: a kitchen remodel in Hyde Park, a six-month construction phase, a holiday inventory surge or a move between homes. You avoid the upfront cost and don’t have to figure out what to do with the container afterward.
Buying makes sense when the need is ongoing. If you expect to use the container for more than a year or so, monthly rental payments often add up to more than the purchase price. Owned containers also hold their resale value well, so a unit bought today can often be sold later to recover part of the cost.
If you’re on the fence, tell us your timeline and we’ll lay out both numbers side by side so you can compare them.
Preparing Your Site for Delivery
Containers are delivered on a tilt-bed truck that slides the unit off the back. To make delivery go smoothly, plan for:
- Straight-line clearance: roughly 60 feet for a 20 ft container and about 100 feet for a 40 ft container, so the truck can pull forward as the unit slides off.
- Overhead clearance: about 14 feet, free of power lines and tree branches.
- Width: at least 10 to 12 feet of clear access.
- Level, firm ground: gravel, asphalt or concrete work best. Soft lawns after a rainy week can trap a delivery truck.
Permits and rules: Requirements differ across the region. Inside city limits, check with the City of Cincinnati Department of Buildings & Inspections. Suburbs such as Blue Ash, Mason, West Chester Township and Fairfield each set their own zoning rules, and many neighborhoods have HOA restrictions on how long a container can stay in a driveway. Northern Kentucky cities like Covington and Florence also have their own requirements. A quick phone call to your local zoning office before delivery can save a lot of trouble.
